"Vin" is an own son of Kuawarri Vaquero "Ace" out of a working, outcross bred female that we leased in 2008. Like his sire, he combines all the elements that we need in a working dog and companion. On stock he has shown quite a bit of eye and power, naturally going to the head and balancing stock nicely. He is a wider outrunning dog than many ACDs, but will really step up with power to move stock when asked. He likes to bite a nose (extremely hard and fast!) and is a clean heeler, much like his sire was. His trainable mind is exactly what we'd expect being an "Ace" son. He's a taller dog that is lightning quick. He's very handsome and conformationally correct. To us, he's the best Ace son we have raised. He is currently being trialed with great success-many thanks to Larry Painter for handling this dog for us! Frozen semen available.
2012 National Specialty Results-"Vin" had high score in the Started Cattle Class on day 1, and was reserve on day 1 on sheep. On day 2, he won 2nd in started cattle and 3rd on started sheep. Due to this strong showing he was awarded the "Most Promising Started Dog" in the breed!
A bit of history about the bottomside of his pedigree-
We leased his dam specifically to cross on Kuawarri Vaquero after we had bred Rose Crk II to him with great success. Rose Crk II was bred by our friends the Boswells in MO, they obtained her sire and dam from the good program of working ACD breeder Janis Skiles in Arkansas. We worked several pups from this cross, and they were all very capable stock dogs and friendly family dogs. We leased a full brother to Rose Crk II as a sire back in the 90's, and are glad to continue the influence of this solid line of working ACDs though "Vin".

* About Vin's PRCD Status-About 5 years ago, we used a company called Ingen to test some litters of pups for PRCD. Vin was one of these pups-we have come to find out that this company was flawed in their testing, and have since shut down. They had reported that Vin was a A, after accurate testing through Optigen, we have come to find out that he is a B. Luckily, we only bred him to A females, so there should be no issues. Also, he was the only of the Ingen tested pups to go on to be bred. But please, if you have ever used Ingen to test your dogs, have them tested through Optigen.
